Vaikų dantų gydymas taikant anesteziją

If a child’s dental condition is poor and if dental treatment causes strong negative emotions, it is recommended for parents to consider dental treatment under general anesthesia. Anesthesia is an alternative that helps avoid multiple stress-inducing dental visits for the child. With this approach, all damaged teeth can be treated during a single visit to the dentist.

Don’t worry if you find it harder to pronounce some sounds. The basic adaptation period for the mouth and face can last 2-4 weeks.

Alongside the dentist, an anesthesiologist and resuscitator works during the procedure. While the child is asleep, the anesthesiologist continuously monitors the patient’s consciousness, heart function, blood pressure, breathing, and oxygen saturation. This ensures that the procedure is safe.

Advice before treatment

Depending on the situation, additional health assessments may be required to properly prepare for treatment. Additionally, six hours before anesthesia, the patient should not eat or drink anything except water. Two hours before anesthesia, even water should not be consumed.

During treatment

After treatment

The patient is transferred to the post-operative recovery room, where care and treatment are managed by a nurse specializing in anesthesia and intensive care, as well as an anesthesiologist and resuscitator. The patient’s vital signs are monitored until they are fully awake and regain their strength. In the recovery room, pain management and nausea prevention are provided if needed.

What should I do after treatment?

– Kurį laiką po anestezijos negerti ir nevalgyti; – Praėjus porai valandų tiktų negazuoti gėrimai bei nedidelis kiekis lengvai virškinamo maisto; – Likusią dienos dalį rekomenduojama ilsėtis ir nieko aktyviai neveikti; – Patariame atsinešti drabužius persirengimui.
