Do not consume coloring foods (black coffee, beetroot, red wine, carrot juice, etc.) or wear lipstick.

Don’t worry if you find it harder to pronounce some sounds. The basic adaptation period for the mouth and face can last 2-4 weeks.

Follow-up examination after two weeks

During the filling process, your teeth were insulated with a moisture-proof rubber-cofferdam, which has dried and slightly discolored them. After two weeks, your teeth drink moisture and change color, so that only after two weeks you can see the result of the aesthetic filling (colour of the teeth, marginal adhesion of the filling, condition of the mucous membranes, etc). In addition, during the examination, the dentist may suggest a correction of the aesthetic fillings based on your objective observations.

Maintenance of aesthetically filled teeth

It is advisable to use a toothpaste – one that is free of abrasives, such as “Elgydium”.

Do not use:

Whitening and other highly abrasive toothpastes – these contain acidic and abrasive particles that scratch the surface of aesthetic restorations. Fillings lose their shine.

Pastes with chlorhexidine – form dark plaque.

Herbal pastes – aesthetic fillings lose their shine.

The toothbrush should be soft: ultra soft, super soft or soft. (Curaprox toothbrushes are available at the CLINIC DPC and are distinguished by their abundance of bristles and softness). More bristles are more effective in removing plaque from the surface of the teeth. Brush your teeth in a sweeping and circular motion (avoid horizontal movements).

Inter-dental brushes or inter-dental floss. Optimally, you should use an individually selected inter-dental brush every evening. Floss, waxed floss or floss strips can also be used for the inter-dental care of the front teeth, but inter-dental brushes are most effective for the inter-dental care of molars. (The CLINIC DPC offers an inter-dental brush that has soft bristles twisted around a thin and extremely flexible medical wire, which reaches even the smallest cavities. You can buy the right inter-dental floss for your needs here).

Listerin antiseptic mouthwash, which reduces micro-organisms and improves oral odor. Curasept therapeutic or prophylactic rinses are recommended for oral mucosal problems. Your dentist will advise you on which rinse to use, if indicated, after assessing your oral condition.

If you have been fitted with a protective cap on your teeth at the doctor’s discretion (e.g. due to bruxism – unconscious gnashing of the teeth at night), you must wear the cap every night to protect your aesthetic restorations.

Avoid biting hard foods and materials (fruit pits, bones, fried bread, bottle caps, etc.). If your teeth become sensitive, discolored, cracked or chipped, painful, etc. You should contact the clinic immediately.

Professional oral hygiene and restoration of aesthetic fillings, polishing

After 6-12 months. It is advisable to go for professional oral hygiene after a cosmetic filling. This will involve removing accumulated plaque and calculus and polishing the restored surfaces of the restoration. We will inform you about the state of the aesthetic restoration, whether you are using the correct dental care products, advise you on the condition of the restoration, and offer correction in the case of abnormalities. Oral hygiene and polishing of aesthetic restorations are essential to maintain the beauty and health of your teeth.
