“In one procedure, the remaining teeth that are no longer suitable for treatment are removed, implants are threaded in and permanent prosthetics are immediately started. The patient leaves the clinic the next day with permanent teeth. Implants can take between 1 and 2 hours to complete, depending on the individual situation, so it is advisable to consult the implantologist beforehand. The procedure is completely painless, we perform it under partial general anesthesia, and local anesthesia is also applied, so the patient does not feel pain during the procedure. Mild pain and swelling is possible only during the post-operative healing period,” says the CLINIC | DPC dentist.
The healing period does not last long
Speaking about the healing period, R. Laurinčikas mentions that after the procedure it is quite normal to feel unpleasant sensations, but they disappear very quickly and patients can immediately say goodbye to complexes and enjoy a beautiful smile.
“It’s normal to feel swelling and a little pain for the first week after the procedure. This is most intense for the first 4 days, then the symptoms gradually decrease. The healing period and any discomfort depend on each individual – they are not the same for everyone. Sometimes patients don’t even need to take painkillers and sometimes the pain lasts a little longer. But everything heals and the patient can enjoy a beautiful smile. After the procedure, the patient has to come to the clinic 10 days later for floss removal, 2 months later for a preventive check-up, and every 6 months for oral hygiene treatments and check-ups,” the specialist says.
