1. You may feel temporary discomfort, swelling, swelling, numbness, and hematomas (bruising) in the surrounding tissues after the tooth implantation. To reduce swelling of the operated area, cold compresses should be applied to the facial skin in the area of the projection – an ice bladder wrapped in a thin cloth. The cold should be held for 15 minutes, with a 10-minute break, for the first day after surgery.
2. You can eat after the procedure once the painkillers have worn off, at the earliest after two hours. For the first 24 hours, light, soft, non-hot food is recommended.
3. Do not rinse your mouth for the first day after surgery, and do not touch the wound with your fingers or tongue. Lightly rinse the mouth one day after surgery. Rinse with an antiseptic mouthwash. It is recommended to rinse about 10 times a day for 10 days.
4. Good oral hygiene after meals is essential. Take prescribed medicines as directed by your doctor. Try not to overeat, avoid physical exertion, do not exercise or sweat during the first week after surgery.
5. Smoking impairs wound healing and increases the likelihood of non-healing. Do not smoke for at least two days after surgery. Do not drink alcoholic beverages for 7-14 days after surgery.
6. If the wound has been stitched with dissolvable sutures, they will dissolve on their own, but in case of discomfort they can be, and sometimes should be, removed after 10-14 days, just like non-dissolvable sutures.
7. Good oral hygiene will speed up healing and reduce the risk of complications. In the first few days after surgery, be careful not to damage the surgical site or sutures. Do not lick the wound or put your tongue against the sutures. Special clinical brushes can also be used for hygiene of the surgical site.
8. If the metal part of the implant is visible in the mouth after implantation, it must be cleaned very carefully to make it shine. Brush the adjacent teeth gently with toothpaste recommended by your doctor after each meal. Rinse your mouth 3 times a day with solutions containing chlorhexidine, such as Perio-Aid 0.12% or Curasept 0.20% (but this liquid can only be used for up to 10 days after the surgery). If bruising or swelling occurs in the post-operative period, you can apply an external side-effect relieving ointment (e.g. Traumeel, Heparin, Diclofenac, Ibumetin ointment) according to your doctor’s recommendations.
9. If you have been given antibiotics, we recommend taking good bacteria (e.g. Bifolac, Bifoval, Yoghurt, Linex, Bimodium, Laktobakt, etc.) to help re-balance your body after taking them.
