A number of studies show that compared to other EU countries, Lithuanians still pay little attention to their teeth. Why? There are probably many reasons, but for many of our compatriots, dental health problems start in childhood. As the years go by, they get worse and worse, and teeth become vulnerable to decay, some of which have to be repaired or even extracted.
It is only when we lose our teeth that we think about how important they are in our lives. Far from being just an aesthetic satisfaction (a beautiful smile, white teeth), healthy teeth are vital because humans need food – biting and chewing is a must. Probably no one would argue that eating is one of life’s greatest pleasures. It is unfortunate that for some it sometimes becomes an inconvenience or even an ordeal.
The best investment is in your health
Humans have a vital capacity to adapt. But sometimes this quality backfires on us. For example, we lose one tooth – it’s uncomfortable for a while, but we gradually get used to it, and then we lose another one – it’s the same again… After a while, we may lose a lot of teeth, but we learn to chew on the “good” side, choose the right food and the discomfort becomes a matter of course. However, the doctors at CLINIC | DPC encourage all those who have lost one or more teeth to regain the ability to chew comfortably and smile broadly.
We live in difficult times, with inflation rising and goods and services becoming more expensive. This makes you wonder whether it pays to save money. Maybe it’s better to invest in yourself and choose dentures or implants. In this way, you can improve not only your physical health, but also your psychological health and enjoy a quality life. It is not for nothing that they say that health is the greatest asset.
Correcting old mistakes
Although the number of people taking care of their health in Lithuania is slowly increasing, some problems are persistent or caused by previous treatment methods. In the past, few people tried to save decayed teeth. If it’s broken, let’s take it out. And what’s there to regret? But teeth no longer grow back, and the loss of a few teeth results in a significant change in chewing ability, deformed facial contours, impaired speech, involuntary whistling, spitting, and difficulty pronouncing certain sounds. In such cases, serious dental restoration procedures have to be undertaken.
“My colleagues and I often talk about the fact that many people are still unaware of the latest options for restoring teeth. However, with technology advancing at a rapid pace, the choice of treatment methods is much wider than, for example, ten years ago,” says Martynas Žalandauskas, a dentist at CLINIC | DPC.
If you don’t want to opt for removable dentures, you may want to look into a method called “All-on-4”. This technique allows you to restore the teeth of one jaw on four implants. It avoids the complex, time-consuming bone grafting procedures, which can often be a very tedious process. After the dental implant placement, a fixed temporary prosthesis is immediately fabricated on the implants, and the patient returns six months later to have permanent teeth made.
You are invited to free meetings
We talk to a lot of patients and we realized that many of them lack knowledge about the latest methods of dental implantation and prosthetics, so we have decided to invite everyone to a meeting with dentists from CLINIC | DPC, who will tell you in detail about the possibilities, advantages and disadvantages of dental implants and prosthetics. The events are free of charge, but places are limited, so please register.
CLINIC | DPC dentist is pleased that even in the most difficult circumstances, patients are often helped, and recalls the clinic’s message that every smile has a story. “At least the smiles that our clinics are able to restore,” smiles M. Žalandauskas. – “Over the years of the CLINIC | DPC network in Lithuania, we have restored the smiles of more than 55,000 patients. It is hard to put into words the feeling when, thanks to the joint work of the whole team, a person regains the joy of life.”
